17 fishermen are competing at the lake “Iskar”

The fishing competition was organized by the union “Sofia waters” and the club “The Old Otters”.

The competition is part of the ecology initiative to clear the region around the artificial lake “Iskar”. Seventeen fishermen signed up for the challenge.

The heaviest fish caught so far weighs 1,2 kg. Ten is the biggest number of fishes caught by a single fishermen so far. The predictions indicate that about 60% uncaught fishes will remain in the artificial lake.

After concluding the competition and evaluating the catch, the participants will begin cleaning up the lake “Iskar”. The pollution this year is significantly less than previous years, announced organizers. About 60 people will participate in the cleaning initiative.
