21% growth of the insurance sector

The insurance sector of Bulgaria grew by 21,5% for the period January – June 2008, compared to the same period the previous year, shows KFN data in today’s issue of the newspaper Monitor.

The registered premiums in the general insurance are 1,306 billion leva, which is 22% increase of the annual base, and the life insurance registered 241,398 leva – 18,5% higher.

70,7% of the premium income in the general insurance come from the automobile insurances “Autocasco” (47,8%) and “Citizen responsibility”, which is connected with the possession of a vehicle (22,9%).
