A Bulgarian EEA league was founded

The Bulgarian EEA league was founded yesterday in Bansko with an official ceremony, attended by municipality mayors and media representatives. This way, Bulgaria becomes part of the European initiative for competition between the cities in the fields of renewable energy sources, announced Yanik Renie, co-ordinator of the European EEA championship.

The founding of the national league is part of the European energetics week and is co-financed by the program “Intelligent energy for Europe” of the European commission.

The rules to participate are simple, like in football, but unlike football championships, usually small cities win this competition, clarified Renie.

He pointed out that France, the Czech Republic and Germany were the founders of the European EEA championship, and that Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary are the countries that join now.
