A bus factory to be constructed in Plovdiv

Submitted on Friday, 20 February 2009No Comment

The Spanish company “Mondragon” will invest between 15 and 20 million euro in the creation of a bus factory in Plovdiv.

“The new factory will construct two buses per day”, said representatives of the company yesterday in Plovdiv.

Around 200 workers will be involved in the production. This is just the preliminary plan for the investment. This sum does not include the finances that will be invested in the construction and equipping of the construction halls for spare parts and other production, said “Mondragon” representatives.

The investment will be mutual with the firm “City transport”-Plovdiv.

The majority owner of the company Angel Batakliev brought Spanish businessmen in the municipality of Plovdiv to seek out suitable municipal terrains.

“The old industrial zones of Plovdiv are best suited for the construction of the new factory”, said the vice-mayor Alexander Konstantinov.
