Alexander Vasilevski is the new ambassador of Macedonia in Bulgaria

The Macedonian diplomat Alexander Vasilevski is the newest, fifth Macedonian ambassador in Sofia.

Vasilevski was the ambassador of Macedonia in Serbia, but in October last year he was declared persona non grata by the Serbian authorities, after Macedonia recognizedd the independence of Kosovo.

Alexander Vasilevski will replace Abdiraman Aliti in Sofia, who withdrew before the end of his mandate due to family reasons. The presence of Vasilevski will end the year without a Macedonian representative in Sofia.

The first Macedonian ambassador in Bulgaria was Georgi Spasov, followed by Nikola Todorchevski. After that, Macedonia was represented by Liubisha Georgievski, followed by Abdiraman Aliti.
