Bulgaria establishes a center for nanotechnologies

A decision of the Council of ministers approved the creation of a center for nanotechnologies in Bulgaria. The union “Bulgarian center for nanotechnology” EAD will be financed with 50 million leva.

The American company IBM will be the major partner of the project. IBM are leaders in the field of industrial nanotechnologic researches and microelectronics. The American company owns over 10 000 patents in this field.

The realization of the project is an important step forward in the research and industrial potential of Bulgarian nanotechnologies, nanomaterials, nanoproducts and micromachines. This will be an important asset to the national economics.
