Bulgaria will import 1 billion cubic metres gas annualy from Azerbaijan

The prime minister Sergey Stanishev, who is in Budapest for the high-rank meeting to discuss the gas network “Nabucco”, negotiated a deal with the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to deliver gas to Bulgaria. The deal is for 1 billion cubic metres annualy.

During the work meeting in Budapest, the president of Azerbaijan confirmed that in 2010, his country will have enough extra quantities of natural gas.

“This is very useful to us, from the point of diversification of shipments – we’ve been working on that for quite some time now,” says the prime minister. The two also discussed the development of “Nabucco”.
