A cluster of ten Bulgarian companies in the furniture business furnished a hotel chain with fifteen hotels all across Germany. This was announced by the chief of the new Association of business clusters Genoveva Hristova. The hotels are 2-3 stars quality with a total of 1500 rooms, clarified Hristova.

According to her, the furnishing cluster includes companies with various specializations – wardrobes, beds, mattresses, and none of them could win this project on their own.

“Clusters in North-Eastern Italy, between Venice and Verona, are already holding 48,5% of the worldwide production of chairs”, pointed out Hristova.

“In the end of September, we will announce the latest part of the operative program “Competitive power” that will encourage the business co-operation and clusters”, said the vice-chief of the new association Petar Statev.

The financing from the EU is nearly 30 million leva. So far there have been two similar programs – in 2005 and 2007, and the total sum was thirty times lower. The big difference now is that the money can be spent not only for consultation, but also for office construction and other meaningful expenses”, clarified Statev.
