From the beginning of 2009, the number of newly VAT registered in the National agency for income (NAP) in Sofia has increased almost three times in comparison to last year, announced agency representatives.

For the given period, the Sofia department of NAP accepted 811 applications for VAT registration, and over 80% of them were from cigarette traders.

According to the changed Laws for tobacco and tobacco products, traders of such products must be VAT-registered.

The deadline for the publication that affirms the VAT registration is 14 days after the application was given.
