Foreigners seek jobs in Veliko Tarnovo

The labour inspectorate in Veliko Tarnovo checked upon 30 foreigners that sought jobs in the region, announced the chief executive of the department Anton Parichev.

The firms in the region that preferred foreign labourers before Bulgarian sent their applications in the Agency for labour, demanding the check up from the labour inspectorate.

Vietnamese, Indians and Moldovans mostly comprise the foreign labourers in the region. Sixteen Indian engineers work in the pasteboard factory “Velpa 96”. Moldovan university students work as waiters in “Interhotel Veliko Tarnovo” and the “Russian club”. A Moldovan citizen works in the military factory “Arkus” in Lyaskovets.

According to Bulgarian laws, foreigners can only work with the approval of the Agency for labour and with the demand from the local employer. The labour contract is mandatory.
