German tourists spent 2 billion euro in Bulgaria in 2008

German tourists spent over two billion euro in Bulgaria in 2008, said the mayor of Varna Kiril Yordanov, cited by Darik radio.

Yordanov met deputees from the Bundestag to discuss the development of local tourism.

Nearly 500 thousand German tourists visited Bulgaria during the last year. German tourists spent 61 billion euro globally.

Bulgaria will have to re-open it’s information center in Germany in order to make Bulgara a popular tourism destination once again, commented Yordanov.
