Japanese invested 1,5 million euro in Kazanlak

Japanese spent 1,5 million euro for tuition of Kazanlak citizens to make them able cadres in the tourism branch. The investment is part of the whole project to resurgence of the municipality of Kazanlak.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency and guests from the municipalities of Gabrovo, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Karlovo met for a two-day seminar in the city of roses to discuss the possibilities for economical revival of the region.

The start of the project for resurgence of Kazanlak was due to the phenomenal archaeological discoveries of dr. Georgi Kitov in 2004 in the Valley of Thracian kings.

For three years, Japanese specialists laid out plans and aided by Kazanlak natives, chose 5 main strategies. The first was the creation of a tourist zone that included rural tourism and the visual improvement of the region. Twenty houses for rural tourism were created near Kazanlak.

Festivities based on Thracian culture were organized in the city of roses last August. A Union of artistry masters was created, and they made several exhibitions with their works.

Much effort was given to the improvement of the tourism services and human resource development.
