Medvedev and Parvanov discuss collaborative energetics projects

The Russian president Dmitry Medvedev welcomed his Bulgarian colleague Georgi Parvanov in the Moscow Kremlin yesterday.

The main topic of discussion between the two presidents will be the “practical realization of the collaborative strategic projects in the field of energetics – the construction of the Nuclear power plant “Belene”, the oil pipe-line Burgas-Alexandroupolis and the gas pipe line “Southern stream”, revealed the assistant of the Russian president Sergey Prihodko.

The ambassador of Bulgaria in Russia Plamen Grozdanov said, that during the discussions Parvanov will note the lack of Russian gas during the crisis and the damage it caused. “I don’t know if we can talk about compensations, but the topic will certainly be discussed”, said the diplomat.

Dmitry Medvedev stated in an interview for the Bulgarian national television that Bulgaria should seek major compensations from the responsible side for the gas crisis – namely, Ukraine.
