Memorial Plate unveiled at ‘Dve mogili’ station

The Transport minister Petar Mutafchiev unveiled a memorial plate at ‘Dve mogili’ station where 100 years ago was written the manifest proclaiming Bulgaria’s independence.

‘On September 22 1908 the train from Ruse to Veliko Tarnovo stopped at ‘Dve mogili’ station and the manifest was finished there’ says Kapka Ivanova who has taken part in searching archives about declaring the Independence.

Tomorrow in Ruse artist and members of ‘Tradition’ club will recreate the last steps in declaring the Independence of Bulgaria on September 22 1908.

The final decisions were made on the Danube ship ‘Krum’ in Ruse at a meeting between knyaz Ferdinand I, Prime-minister Alexander Malinov and other ministers. Bulgaria’s Independence was officially proclaimed in Veliko Tarnovo.
