MON provides additional financing to protected schools

The Ministry of education and science (MON) provided additional financing for the protected schools in Bulgaria.

That was the announcement of the minister of education and science Daniel Valchev during a conference for “Delegated budgets in the high school system” in Plovdiv.

The number of protected schools that will be aided financially will reach 90. The provided subsidy is over 2.5 million leva, said minister Daniel Valchev.

Nearly 360 buses will be purchased this year. This is three times the amount of buses for 2007, added Valchev. The budget for municipality aid is doubled to 67 million leva.

The Ministry of education and science will try to encourage the extracurricular activities, especially in smaller municipalities and schools. Over 400 projects will be financed additionally outside the intended budget for “Human resource development”. The additional finances for the municipalities will be over 17 million leva.
