Submitted on Friday, 19 December 2008No Comment

“Only four months after the sale of the “Cigarette factory Plovdiv”, the first cigarettes from a private Bulgarian company are out in the market”, announced the chief executive of the holding Zlatomira Draganska for the Monitor newspaper.

The private factory started the production of two new Bulgarian brands – The King and Merilyn.

A serious marketing research preceeded the restoration of the factory. Over 140 cigarette brands struggle for customer’s interest in Bulgaria. Both brands of “Cigarette factory Plovdiv” will be in the basic price range, but cheaper than the main competitors in the segment. The King will be sold for 2,40 levs per box, and the slim cigarettes Merilyn – for 2,60 levs per box. The goals of the company is to hold 10% of the Bulgarian market.

The tobacco in both types of cigarettes is mostly Bulgarian, but also raw material from Zimbabwe, Brasil and USA, and additional products – paper and filters from the best Italian, Austrian, Greek and German companies.
