New tourism attractions in Chepelare for the coming winter season

The municipality of Chepelare prepares new attractions for tourists in the coming winter tourism season, announced the mayor of the municipality Georgi Popov.

At the moment, the ski track of the skiing center “Mechi chal” is under repair. A children center is under construction near the upper lift station, along with two restaurants.

According to Popov, Chepelare is a preferred tourism destination for the fans of winter sports and the winter tourism season is stronger than the summer season, because the winter is soft and warm, while the snow is long lasting because the municipality is 1150 m. above the sea level. The mayor stated that the summers also don’t lack tourists, and this month the number of visitors has increased significantly.

At the moment, both Bulgarian and foreign tourists are in the village and the inforamtion center works all week long. Dutch and English tourists are the dominant foreign groups.
