Over 100 Bulgarian authors received awards for May 24th

More than 100 awards were handed out by the minister of culture Stefan Danailov to Bulgarian authors for the upcoming Day of Bulgarian education, culture and alphabet – May 24th.

The biggest award was for the lifetime achievement – a placard “The Golden Rhyton”, a honorary diploma and 5000 leva. They were given to the actress Elena Stefanova.

The categories were several, including awards for young talents, prominent teachers, contributors, patrons, museum staff, etc.

“These awards we give on the eve of May 24th go to real Bulgarian people of art. Some will say – what does a piece of paper mean? It means respect”, said the minister Danailov.
