Pironkova surprises Melbourne

Tsvetana Pironkova did well and defeated the Croat Karolina Sprem with 6-0, 6-4 in a game in the first round of the tournament for the Grand slam of the “Australian Open” in Melbourne.

The first racket of Bulgaria dealt with her opponent for 71 minutes and secured her place in the next round, where she will face a more difficult opponent – Marion Bartoli.

The French player is 17th in the world and defeated Pironkova twice – in 2007 and 2008, in Indian Wales and New Haven respectively. In the first round of Australian Open Bartoli defeated the British Melany South with 6-2, 6-4.
