Record-setting temperatures in Eastern Bulgaria

The temperature in Silistra at 12:00 AM today reached 35 degrees, announced the local meteorology observatory. The weathermen predicted even higher temperatures later on.

The temperature in Veliko Tarnovo was 34 degrees.

In Ruse, the temperature was nearly 39 degrees.

According to meteorology data for the last 100 years, this was the maximum for this day, registered back in 1947.

The absolute temperature record was set on June 26th 2007 – 39,6 degrees. The absolute minimum record was set on June 4th 1950 – 5,5 degrees.
