Registration of a firm in Bulgaria for 2 lv

Submitted on Tuesday, 25 August 2009No Comment

The minimum capital to register a firm has become 2 leva. The former price for the same service was 5000 leva.

This was made possible by the proposed changes in the Trade law, approved during today’s government assembly.

The goal of these changes is to stimulate the entrepreneur drive in young people through a more friendly legal environment.

Bulgaria has one of the highest price levels for minimum capital in the world. The report of the World bank “How is business made” places Bulgaria on the 36th place out of 181 countries. Countries that demand a higher minimum capital include Mongolia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Kongo, Benin, Syria. Nearly 100 countries demand no minimum capital to start a firm. They include Australia, Canada, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Great Britain, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, France and Malaysia.
