Rumiana Neikova and Miglena Markova at the finals in Munich

The Olympic champion Rumiana Neikova and Miglena Markova earned their place at the finals for coxless pairs of the rowing World cup competition in Munich.

The pair came first in the repechages – 7:12,13 minutes. The Danish boat came second at 7:13,74 minutes. The decisive chase for the top places is tomorrow, June 21st, at 10:33 AM Bulgarian time.

The Bulgarians will compete against boats from Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, China and Denmark.

Later today, Zlatko Karaivanov and Vasil Vitanov will row in the C finals of the light category, which will determine the places between 12th and 18th. At the repechages, the Bulgarians finished third with 6:39.33 minutes. The boat from Denmark was first with 6:30.45 minutes, and the Polish boat was second with 6:34.31 minutes. Vitanov and Karaivanov are bronze medalists from the international junior championship.
