Small apartments in the center of Sofia – 44% cheaper

Submitted on Saturday, 11 April 2009No Comment

The price offers for smaller apartments (two rooms up to 55 square metres) in the center of Sofia dropped by 44%, according to information on the estate sales website www.imot.bg. Practically, the prices went back to their levels of a year and a half ago – they are currently on the level of September 2007, noted the newspaper Monitor.

Statistics show that there are 11 small apartments for sale in Sofia, which is nearly 20 times less than the apartments offered back in September. Despite that, the prices are significantly lower. According to brokers, the current market offers estates in unprestigious areas.

The estates in the best neighbourhoods are sold as soon as they begin construction and offers for them rarely even reach the estate sales agencies. The lack of crediting however affects negatively the demand in the prestigious neighbourhoods just like anywhere else, commented brokers.
