Sofia Film Fest hits the roads

The films hit the road -Bulgarian and European cinema will meet movie fans from the Bulgarian capital with special airings in nine regions of the Sofia municipality. This is a part of the new initiative of the international film festival Sofia Film Fest – the traveling program “Sofia Film Fest on the road”.

The initiative will last for two weeks, but it will be continued in 2009. European movies that participated on previous editions of the International Sofia Film Fest will also be shown. Among them are the “Gucha” bu Dushan Milic, “Lightning” and “Thunder” by Radivoe Andric, “Music of Istanbul” and “On Heaven’s Threshold” by Fatih Akin and others.

During the last 12 years, Sofia Film Fest gained recognition as one of the leading cultural events in the Sofia and Bulgaria as a whole. The festival also earned respect as one of the most prestigious film events in Central and Eastern Europe and was ranked among the 50 most important film festivals in the world by the “Variety” magazine.
