The cave “Magurata” – financed by a project

The municipality of Belogradchik won a project for the utilization of the region near the cave “Magurata”. The given finances for the project will be used for the creation of copies of the prehistoric drawings on the walls of one of the biggest caves in Bulgaria.

The mayor of Belogradchik Emil Tsankov commented that the making of copies is very urgent, because currently this part of the caves is closed off for visitors. According to him, the campaign of the municipality is already bringing results, because this is the first time that the tourist base of Belogradchik is full for the weekend.

Emil Tsankov proudly said, that the crisis of tourism does not affect his city and the nearby regions.

“However, we still don’t have enough rooms for the numerous tourists, or even the restaurants to feed them. This ensures that the nearby villages also have their share of tourists”, concludes he.
