The imports of Russian gas will be decreased

Submitted on Monday, 5 January 2009No Comment

The imports of Russian gas in Bulgaria began decreasing on January 3rd and continue so, due to the Ukraine-Russia gas conflict. The gas shipments haven’t reached a critical minimum yet, revealed Reuters citing the gas monopolist “Bulgargas”.

The pressure in the pipelines has dropped and since Saturday morning, the gas shipments are lower, explained the director of “Bulgargas” Dimitar Gogov.

He didn’t want to specify the details of the decrease of gas export from Russia, which covers over 90% of the needs of Bulgaria for gas, but added that the export through Bulgaria for Turkey, Greece and Macedonia also suffers.

According to his words, the daily consumption of gas in Bulgaria is about 10-11 million cubic metres.
