The mayor of Chicago waved the Bulgarian flag

The mayor of Chicago waved the Bulgarian flag for March 3rd. Richard Daley placed the Bulgarian flag next to the American one in front of the municipality on the eve of the Bulgarian national holiday. 100 000 Bulgarians living in Chicago celebrated the 131st anniversary of the Bulgarian freedom alongside him. For the first time ever, Daley wrote a special letter to all Bulgarians living in the city of the current US president Obama.

“Each day, all of you contribute to the stable development of Chicago economics”, states the letter, which was also published in the website of the Bulgarian emigrants – www.EuroChicago.com.

According to the tradition, Bulgarians also organize celebrations in the two Orthodox churches in Chicago – “St. Ivan Rilski” and “St. Sofia”.
