The young hopes of banks in action

The winners of the Second National high school competition “Banks in action” are Stanislav Tonchev and Emil Ivanov from Pleven, also known as team “United”. They defeated 30 other teams from all over Bulgaria, winning the prize in the category “Fastest recovery of a bank”.

The other finalists – the team Pincher Nindja – Georgi Lazarov and Inna Simeonova, also from Pleven, will go to the European championship, because they achieved the highest index of market presentation (IPP). The duo will attend to the semi-finals online. If they classify after that, they will go to defend their title at the First European Championship, which will take place in April 2009 in Brussels, Belgium.

The program is realized in collaboration with Junior Achievement Bulgaria (JAB) and Citybank Bulgaria. It reached over 1000 high school students from 31 schools in 13 Bulgarian cities. The aid isn’t solely financial, but also educational – volunteers from the staff of banks consult young entrepreneurs in their class activities.
