Varna invests 100 000 leva in cultural tourism

The municipal committee for Tourism, trade and advertisement in Varna approved the budget of 100 000 leva for the reconstruction of cultural and historical monuments. An EU-funded project will finance the renovation of the museums in Varna, adds the mayor of the city Kiril Iordanov.

The municipal committee also approved another suggestion regarding the tourism development. In 2009, 5% of the resort taxes will be invested in the advertising and participation in international expos.

This year, Varna hopes to gather around four million leva from resort taxes. These predictions might be too optimistic in the conditions of a financial crisis.
