We keep the currency board, try to avoid inflation

Bulgaria wants to keep the currency board until the country enters the Eurozone. This was announced by the minister of economics and energetics Petar Dimitrov during a conference on the worldwide economical crisis.

According to him, the only fault is the inflation, but that is “the sin of growth”.

In November and December we experienced a drop of 10,9% in production and 13,2% in the sales.

The decrease mostly affects the textile and chemical industry and the metallurgy.

The negotiations for the sale of the metallurgy factory “Kremikovtzi” continue.

Petar Dimitrov denied that there is a problem with the lack of guarantees and supply of raw materials. He didn’t mention any names of firms that have expressed investment interest in “Kremikovtzi”.
