The registered lodgings in the capital for last year were 270.

The total number of rooms in them were 7 794 with a total of 13 661 beds.

The data comes from the municipal facility “Tourism services”, cited by the Bulgarian national radio.

The five star hotels in Sofia are nine, the four star hotels – 30, the three star hotels – 39, the two star hotels – 22, and the one star hotels – 11.

Most are two star family hotels – 22, or one star family hotels (14). Four of them have three stars.

The tourism tax gathered by the Sofia municipality last year was 1 339 931 leva, and in 2007 0 1 315 003 leva.

Last year, the municipal facility gathered 237 740 leva from the “categorization” tax. In 2007, the collected sum was 356 626.39 leva.
