The Ministry of agriculture and foods gave 1 440 000 leva to make an assessment and evaluate the current state of the Rural development program.

The large sum is provided by the budget of the department.

The guarantee to participate in the auction is 12 000 leva. Candidate firms must have a minimum of 600 000 leva annual profits for the last two years.

The Rural development program is the natural continuation of the SAPARD program. Most of the measures that were used with SAPARD apply for the new program, with several tweaks of the requirements.
