Participants and guests of the first ever “Sedyanka in Bansko” (Gathering in Bansko) sampled over 300 wines from different regions of Bulgaria and from different continents of the world.

The idea of the organziers from the municipality of Bansko, the “Durmon” union and the hotel “Kempinski grand Arena” was to make a meeting for clients and wine lovers with wine makers and importers of wines that are rarely found in shops. Organizers made the event to coincide with the organized celebration of a famous traditional appetizer from Bansko.

Professional sommeliers participated alongside wine lovers, but just like everyone else, they had just one vote to cast for the “elections” of the best wine competition. The award was a unique wood-carving, made by masters from Bansko.

The organizers of the event also announced, that they’ve begun a series of charity initiatives whose goal is to gather funds for talented children, or ones needing expensive medical help.
