Miro with three awards from “BG Radio”

After the awards from the TV channel “Planeta” and the magazine “Nov folk”, Miroslav Kostadinov – a.k.a. Miro – was given three awards at this year’s “BG Radio” awards.

The half of the now defunct duo “Karizma” was declared best singer and was acclaimed for the best album for his solo effort “Omirotvoren”.

Naturally, his song “I lose control when…” became the song of the year. “The song was written by Yasen Kozev and Krum Georgiev, and the lyrics are mine”, said Miro as he received his third award for the evening.

In the beginning of the ceremony, he performed an acoustic version of “I lose control when…” with the guitarist of D2 Mitko Karnev. He also didn’t miss the chance to announce that his nation-wide tour has already started.

Miro is also the author of the new song for the TV show “More ot liubov”, which comes back this week with the traditional hostess Natalia Simeonova.

Grafa also didn’t leave without awards – his song “Vrag”, which was neglected at the “Eurovision” finals in Bulgaria, brought him another award – for best lyrics. The same song also won an award for the best video, which went to the director Vasil Stefanov.

There were surprises in the debuts section, where the winner of Music Idol 2 Toma was defeated by the girl he defeated in the finals of the TV show – Nora.

Rock still triumphed however, with the award for BTR in the band awards. Nina Nikolina and Kalin Veliov won in the duo/trio section.

The firt music idol – Nevena, who won two awards last year (for album and debut), added the award for best woman singer this year.

Stefan Valdobrev (with a song from the movie “The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner”), Elitsa and Stundzhi (with “Hubava si, moia goro”), D2, Krista, Nina Nikolina and Kalin Veliov, Mastilo, and Toma were just some of the perfomrers on the renovated, green stage of Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture.

Galia (ex-Karizma), who comes back to the stage this spring, sang her new solo song in a sexy outfit a la Gwen Stefani.

Nevena presented an interesting mash-up performance with Marius Moga from the Romanian pop duo “Morandi” and the Greek rapper Nivo.

One of the eco-accents of the ceremony was the video greeting from the U2 frontman Bono, who cheered with the Bulgarian audience and reminded everyone that green is the colour of his country, Ireland.
