A monument of the victims of communism in Sofia
The sculptor Valko Tsenov and the architect Ivo Pantaleev won the competition for the construction of a monument for the victims of communism, organized by the municipality of Sofia.
The monument will be in the garden in front of the “Sveti Sedmochislenitsi” Church.
The results of the competition were announced today by the chief architect of Sofia Petar Dikov. According to him, the location in front of the beloved church in Sofia is a fitting place, because it served as a prison during the times of communism – a symbol of violence between Bulgarians.
According to Dikov, almost all of the participants in the competition presented very strong projects, all of which were suitable as monuments for the victims of these times.
