The lake covers an area of 7,5 decares and will be the newest attraction in Plovdiv. This was nnounced by the mayor of the Plovdiv region “Thrace”, G. Matev. A large park will also be built over 72 decares public municipal propery and will bear the name “Khan Krum”. A monument of the Khan was constructed last year.

The construction of a “water mirror” is one of the requirements in the construction of the park. Water lilies and other aquatic flowers will be present among the slight artificial heights. The park will have an alley for the jogging lovers, and three tennis fields with cafes around them. Three entertainment centers for different ages will also be constructed – one for children, one for teenagers, and one for grown-ups. The public discussion already approved the project. Now an expert council will vote on the proposal.
