An information center for the custom “nestinarstvo” (barefooted dancing on smouldering embers) was opened in the village Bulgari near Bourgas.

In the center, tourists can watch footage of the fire dances of the famous “nestinarka” (ritual dancer) grandma Zlata. The center also has photos of the ancient custom up on display.

The idea for the project is to turn the center into a full-fledged Museum of nestinarstvo, which will show artifacts related with the unique tradition.

The goal of the project is to popularize the culture tourism in the region of the Strandja mountain.

The center was established with the aid of the Ministry of culture.
