According to Eurostat, Bulgaria ranks third in real estate construction rate in the European Union for September. Compared to the same month last year, the sector has grown by 17,7 %.

For the third quarter of 2008, compared to the same period in 2007, the growth of the estate construction sector is evaluated to be 13,5%.

The biggest estate construction growth rate happens in Romania. Compared to September 2007, the growth of the sector in Romania is 27 %. The second place belongs to Slovenia, with a growth of 19,4 %.

At the same time, the construction sector in Spain marks it’s biggest decrease since April. The estimate is 24,1% compared to the last September. The situation is Sweden is similar; the construction industry there shrunk by almost 20 % for a year.
