First success for Suter in Bansko
The Swiss skier Fabien Suter won her first race in the World cup competition in the Bulgarian winter resort Bansko.
The 24 year old Suter finished with a 1:45,68 time and scored her first success for the season and third for her entire career. She won by a whole second over the second in the ranking – Andrea Fischbacher (Austria), who had a time of 1:46.83 minutes.
The current leader for the World Cup Lindsey Vonn (USA) and Nadya Fankini (Italy) shared the third spot, after finishing with a time of 1:46.92 minutes.
The Bulgarian skier Maria Kirkova started last with the number 45 and also finished last. Of the 35 skiers that finished the race, she was 8,76 seconds behind the winner.
The race in Bansko was the first in Bulgaria for the alpine skiing disciplines World cup after a break of 25 years.
