Kraft Foods will build a new coffee plant in Kostinbrod

Kraft Foods, the second largest food and beverage company in the world, announced today that is investing 800 000 Euro in a new coffee plant in the Bulgarian city of Kostinbrod. By this the company became the first in Bulgaria to employ a new technology for refrigerating coffee in order to preserve its aroma longer.

The new plant will according to Kraft Foods expectations expand the coffee exports from Bulgaria to Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia and Slovenia. The company is satisfied with the repeal of the excise tax on coffee which was brought in on January 1, 2009.

Since Kraft Foods first entered the Bulgarian market in 1994, the company has made substantial investments in its existing plants in Svoge and Kostinbrod.
