More earthquakes in Bulgaria are not expected

There shouldn’t be any other strong earthquakes, stated the director of the Geophysical institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences professor Nikolay Miloshev.

Miloshev summarized, that the earthquakes yesterday were more than 250, but most of them were micro-earthquakes. The most powerful one was yesterday, around 19:00 PM, with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was at the Greek-Macedonian border. The closest settlement was the Macedonian city Valandovo. The closest Bulgarian settlement was the city Petrich – about 40-50 km. away from the epicenter.
