Despite the heavy snowfall, there are no signals for serious traffic accidents. The traffic is normal for the winter conditions, said the operator on duty of the “Citizen defence” department.

The department expects more complicated situations in the afternoon hours, when people will go back to their homes after the holiday’s end.

The highway “Hemus” is closed for movement of heavy trucks because of the heavy snowfall, added the “Citizen defence” department representatives. The movement of heavy vehicles is stopped in both directions – Sofia-Varna and Varna-Sofia – until the issues are resolved and the road is safe.
