The best Bulgarian badminton player Petia Nedelcheva started with a victory at the finals of the European championship in Assen (Netherlands). The grand prize of the tournament is 50 000 dollars.

In the first round of group one, Nedelcheva (12th in the international rankings) defeated the English champion Jill Pitard with 2:0 (21:11, 21:18) games for 28 minutes.

Tomorrow, Petia Nedelcheva will face the Netherlands player Rachel van Kutsen.

The six best single players – male and female – will face each other at the finals, all struggling for the grand prize.
