Registrations for the summer season – better than expected
Tourist registrations for the summer season are selling much better than expected.
This was announced by Roumen Draganov, director of the Institute for analysis and rating of tourism.
Early this year, expectations were for disasterously low number of registrations from all traditional markets. So far, however, things are going much better than expected. Registrations of tourists from Germany are close to the number of registrations for the same time last year.
Compared to the overal decrease, Bulgaria is doing well on the Russian market as well. While other destinations have suffered about 40% decrease of Russian tourists, Bulgaria are lagging just 8% behind than usual.
“Romanians, who we thought would never come due to the crisis of their currency, visited us in usual numbers for Easter and St. George’s Day. The decrease, where there is one, is minimal,” said Draganov.
