The municipality of Shumen organizes massive festivities to mark the 30th anniversary of the Madara Rider as a recognized international historical site.

Celebrations will be organized under the patronage of the prime minister Sergei Stanishev. The festivities will take place between May 29th – 30th.

The beginning of the festivities will be marked by a scientific conference in the Regional history museum. The conservation and the condition of the early medieval large rock relief will be main topics of the discussion.

A symphonic concert will take place in the Great cavern near the village Madara on May 29th.

The folklore spectacle “Skazanie za konnika” (A tale about the horseman) will entertain all guests of the event on May 30th.
