Along with the traditionally high attention to the independent cinema, the Sofia Film Fest will include – as always – several Hollywood-brand movie hits of the season. The feel for quality cinema didn’t elude the critics of the 13th Sofia Film Fest once again – the three movies that will be presented were the ones with the highest acclaim at the “Oscar” awards.

The absolute favorite of the American film academy – “Slum Dog Millionaire” by the ever surprising Danny Boyle – will be presented at the special British gala.

The unique performance of Sean Penn in the Gus Van Sant movie “Milk” will also be honoured, as the movie will also be shown to the festival audience. So talented, Oscar-winning performance of Kate Winslet will also be honoured with the showing of the highly acclaimed “The Reader”.
