On 13 October will be started the renovation of the road between the village of Rojen and the Rojen monastery, it was announced by the municipality of Sandanski.

The average cost of the project is 300В 000 euro.

The municipality is the project’s executor and won the financing for the repair of this part of the road through the project ‘Increasing of the attractiveness of the region of Rojen for tourist visits.’

The project is a part of a programme for a partnership between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia.

The renovation is supposed to be finished in a 12-month period.

On 29 February 2008 the agreement for the execution of the project was signed by the municipality of Sandanski, represented by the mayor Andon Totev and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.

The first sod will be turned together with representatives of the ministry and the Nevrokopian metropolitan.
