UNSS will host a competition in European law
UNSS will be host to the prestigious international competition on the laws of the European union – ELMC, which will be patronized by the Court of the European Community (CEO). The competition will take place between February 19th – 21st and is organized annually by the European Law Moot Court Society. The goal of the competition is to encourage the studying of European law and acquiring experience with the lawsuits of the CEO.
Twelve teams from European and American universities will participate in the competition. The total number of participants – students, trainers and guests – is 64. The judges (a total of eight people – five foreigners and three Bulgarians) will represent the academic society and specialists in the field of the EU laws. UNSS will be represented by two judges – Diana Marinova and Konstantin Tanev.
The competition itself is a simulated lawsuit and will take place in three stages – writing, regional and European final. The students are prepared with a preliminary casus defined by the judges, containing up to date issues of European law. French and English are the official languages of the competition.
