Parvanov makes a deal for natural gas from Turkmenistan

The Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov, who is on an official visit in Turkmenistan, said that the country is ready to supply Bulgaria with 2 billion cubic metres of natural gas each year, although the construction of the “Nabucco” gas pipe project has not yet begun.

“I am happy that you expressed readiness to meet Bulgaria’s needs and you will supply us with 2 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year using the existing pipe networks, even though the construction of the Nabucco project hasn’t begun yet”, said Parvanov to his Turkmen colleague Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow.
