The captain’s diary of “Ilinden” was found

The Macedonian TV station “Telma” announced that the captain’s diary of “Ilinden” was found after the ship was lifted from the bottom of Lake Ohrid. It will be dried page by page and checked for regular entries of the captain.

Meanwhile, witnesses and other people that have information relevant to the investigation are still being interrogated. The Macedonian-Croatian commission is making a chemical analysis of the evidence from the sunken ship. These researches should assist the identification of the cause behind the tragedy of the sunken ship “Ilinden”, which caused the death of 15 Bulgarian tourists.

Representatives of the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office are following the investigation of the Macedonian authorities, but are not participating in it. They expressed their full confidence in the Macedonian investigation team.

“Ilinden” is currently anchored in the canal “Studenchitsa”. It attracted a large number of curious citizens and even several Bulgarian tourists that wanted to see the ship that caused the death of fifteen Bulgarians.
